A Step In The Right Direction
Our path to building a better Buckeye can start here.
Students' Academics and Courses
Support the local demographics by including agriculture and other rural focused courses in the curriculum. There are endless opportunities to learn farming, forestry, livestock, niche businesses, and environmental sustainability here in our own community. It's what makes this our home.
Capital Improvements
There has been no mention of specific future energy savings when discussing capital improvement projects. I want to explore the use of technology to potentially reduce future costs and/or receive state rebates. There are more innovative things out there than double paned windows and draft-free doors.
There is no individual accountability. As long as I can remember, all school board votes have been unanimous. Every decision has been a committee's ruling, or a 5-0 board vote. We need opposition to have true community representation. There should be differences; no two people will agree on everything.

School Board Candidate FAQs
What is your experience?
I have been active in school board meetings while speaking with taxpayers/residents at fairs and events for over 4 years and was a previous Buckeye employee. I started as a substitute playground and cafeteria monitor, then became a full time cook and bus driver. This gave me firsthand experience with the daily operations and employee relations.
I owned a variety of businesses: structural steel fabricating and erecting, tavern, commercial property, and a family restaurant. I also worked as an office manager for a 533 home HOA.
During this time, I helped settle an ongoing lawsuit by ensuring the HOA bylaws and zoning codes were enforced. I worked with county government to transfer a sewer plant from private to county ownership. I was the go-between for the HOA board and their attorneys for all matters. I was also in charge of all communications between residents and the board, accomplished in part with a monthly newsletter by my own design. Another attribute to my career there was the merging of computer programs to combine data for monthly billing saving us 3-4 days of manual data entry. This greatly improved our billing accuracy as well as staff burdens.
What are your goals?
I would like to include the entire public in our public schools when it comes to finances, facilities, curriculum, and policies. The public consists of residents and taxpayers that do not currently have children enrolled in Buckeye schools, as well as those that do. I would start by having us adhere to the Ohio Sunshine Laws when holding meetings. These are state guidelines for our school to follow when discussing all Buckeye business, which goes beyond monthly board meetings.

What issues do you prioritize?
I really want to dissect this entire new high school building project. We had 3 recent bonds that failed.
May 2023, grades 6-12, $80 million bond failed at 72%
November 2024, grades 9-12, $56 million bond failed at 59%
May 2025, grades 9-12, $56 million bond failed at 63%
The current school board voted unanimously to move forward with a grade 9-12 project that is costing millions more than what the community has already voted down twice, with increasing opposition. This is a total disregard of the community's voice.
